Frequently Asked Questions

Helpful information about private tours, diving, weather, families, wildlife, reservations, and preparing for your day on the water.

Reservations and private tours

Are your tours private?

Yes. Marea Alta specializes in private and small-group experiences. Your group is not combined with unrelated guests unless a different arrangement is discussed in advance.

How far in advance should we reserve?

Booking early is recommended, especially during busy travel periods. Last-minute availability may exist, so it is still worth contacting us by WhatsApp.

Can we customize the itinerary?

Yes. Private tours can be shaped around snorkeling, wildlife, beaches, food, relaxation, adventure, sunsets, and the interests of your group. Final plans depend on weather, tides, and sea conditions.

Can you accommodate larger groups?

Possibly. Standard private experiences are designed for smaller groups, but larger-group options can be discussed directly.

Ocean tours and planning

What should we bring?

Bring towels, swimwear, a camera, hats, and ocean-friendly sunscreen. Specific recommendations may vary by tour.

Do we need to be strong swimmers?

Not necessarily. Tell us about swimming ability, comfort in the water, and any concerns before the tour. We are happy to provide patient guidance and additional support when appropriate.

Are children welcome?

Many private experiences can work well for families. Ages, swimming ability, comfort level, and the planned activities should be discussed before booking.

Will we definitely see dolphins, turtles, or whales?

Wildlife is never guaranteed. Dolphins, rays, turtles, seabirds, and seasonal whales may be seen, but sightings depend on nature, season, location, and conditions.

What happens if the weather is poor?

Safety and comfort come first. Departure times, routes, activities, or dates may need to change because of weather or sea conditions. Marea Alta will communicate available options.

Scuba diving

Do you offer diving for beginners?

Yes. Marea Alta offers supportive private experiences for beginners, along with local diving and certification support for different experience levels.

How many divers are on a trip?

Local dive trips are generally limited to four divers plus guides. For newer divers and certification experiences, two divers is often preferred for more personal attention.

Will other divers be added to our booking?

No. If you book alone or with friends, unrelated divers are not added to your private trip.

What information should certified divers provide?

Share your certification level, approximate number of dives, date of your most recent dive, equipment needs, and anything relevant to comfort or health.

Do you provide certification courses?

Marea Alta offers private certification support for complete beginners through advanced divers. Contact us to discuss the specific course and scheduling.

Food, accessibility, and special requests

Can dietary needs be accommodated?

Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options can often be arranged for experiences that include food. Share dietary needs before the tour.

Can you help guests who are nervous in the water?

Yes. Marea Alta is happy to provide caring, patient reassurance and more personal attention. Please describe concerns before booking so the experience can be planned appropriately.

What should we tell you before the trip?

Share mobility concerns, medical considerations, dietary needs, swimming ability, children’s ages, diving experience, equipment sizing, and any special occasion you are celebrating.

Can you help plan a proposal, birthday, or celebration?

Yes. Private sunset and ocean experiences can be customized for special occasions. Contact Marea Alta with the details and preferred date.
